We teach children how to stay calm, take action, and help others — with sessions delivered in classrooms, during the school day.
What We Offer
First Aid Heroes delivers a progressively structured first aid program for children in Years 1 to 6, designed to develop real skills over time.
Each level is tailored to the age and stage of your students, helping them build confidence as they move from simple actions like calling 000 to applying CPR and using a defibrillator.
Workshops are delivered in classrooms, with facilitators moving room to room. We bring everything — students just show up and learn.
All participants receive a Certificate of Proficiency.
Program Structure
Level 1 – Years 1 and 2 (30 minutes)
Students learn how to recognise when something is an emergency, assess whether someone is breathing, identify unsafe situations, and call emergency services — including how to unlock and use a phone.
The focus is on staying calm, asking for help, and taking safe, simple actions to support others until help arrives.
Level 2 – Years 3 and 4 (60 minutes)
Students are introduced to the DRS AB action plan: Danger, Response, Send for help, Airways, Breathing.
They practise placing someone into the recovery position, checking breathing, treating wounds, responding to asthma with puffers and spacers, and using an EpiPen for anaphylaxis.
Level 3 – Years 5 and 6 (2 hours)
Students learn and practise the full DRS ABCD approach: Danger, Response, Send for help, Airways, Breathing, CPR, and Defibrillation.
They apply these steps in realistic first aid scenarios — from minor injuries to life-threatening situations like cardiac arrest or stroke.
The course builds their confidence to stay calm, take the lead, and make safe decisions under pressure.
They also learn the core responsibilities of a first aider: preserve life, prevent further harm, and prepare the casualty for help.
